In this our group of males and females will adopt positive self-esteem characteristics preparing them to go fourth taking the lead with our structured program getting them on track and for some staying on track that they may be found laboring for the Kingdom Of God. Below are one primary quality we will implement into our youth is.... Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The way to accomplish this is the quality of....HUMILITY The 12 Steps of Humility 1. Recognize that God is God 2. Know that God’s will is best for you (trust, believe in God’s love) 3. Be willing to receive direction (submit to wisdom of others, seek help when in trouble). 4. Endure and don’t grow weary (especially in the spiritual life, we cannot endlessly give). 5. Acknowledge Faults (know ourselves more fully, say sorry, avoid selfish responses) 6. Be content with less and less (especially with greed and misuse of resources) 7. Let Go (of false sense of self) 8. Learn from the community 9. Listen 10. Never ridicule 11. Speak kindly 12. Be serene – stay calm Humility is not something that is popular. It is often confused with humiliation. Sometimes people use this to correct the pride of others. We should Have a readiness to admit when we are wrong. In the Psalms it says, “I am a worm.” (Ps 22:6). Humility comes from the latin word humus meaning earth or ground. St Benedict talks of a ladder that we climb by humility and descend by self exaltation because it prevents God from raising us up. For Bernard of Clairvaux, humility was founded on truth, with others and with God. It is not necessarily the opposite of pride.
